Mobile App & Knizhko

This page supplements our Privacy Policy and describes two specific parts of our service: the KnigiAnglia – Bulgarian Books mobile app, and Knizhko, our AI librarian. Everything in the main Privacy Policy applies here as well.

The Mobile App

Our Android app, “KnigiAnglia – Bulgarian Books”, is published on Google Play by 5KO Limited. The app is a secured wrapper around our website, knigianglia.co.uk, and displays the same content as the website.

The app itself collects no separate data. Any information you provide through it — your name, delivery address, email address, telephone number, order history — is collected in exactly the same way, for exactly the same purposes, as when you use the website in a browser. Please see our main Privacy Policy for the full description.

The only additional data the app makes possible is a push notification subscription, described below, and only if you choose to allow it.

Push Notifications

If you allow notifications — in the app or on the website — we store the following:

• a technical notification address for your device (an “endpoint” issued by Google);
• two encryption keys, which allow only your device to decrypt the message;
• your email address, so that we can match a notification to the correct order.

We use notifications only to tell you about the status of your own orders, about stock you have specifically asked us to watch for you, and about news and offers from the bookshop. We do not use them for anything else and we do not share them with advertisers.

Messages are delivered through Google’s service (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Their contents are encrypted and Google does not read them.

Knizhko — Our AI Librarian

Knizhko is an optional chat assistant that helps you find books. You do not need it in order to browse or to buy, and you do not need an account to use it.

Where your messages go. If you use the chat, your messages are sent for processing to Anthropic PBC (the Claude service, United States) in order to generate a reply. Anthropic processes them as our data processor. The transfer to the United States is made on the basis of the UK Standard Contractual Clauses together with the International Data Transfer Addendum.

What we keep. We retain your conversations, together with your name and email address if you are signed in to your account, so that we can trace a recommendation, answer follow-up questions about your order, and improve the service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service; you may object at any time using the contact details above.

If you start as a guest. If you use Knizhko without signing in and then sign in later on the same device, the conversation you have already had is linked to your account, so that we can continue helping you with the same enquiry. If you would prefer that it were not, tell us and we will delete it.

Limits. Knizhko is subject to a limit on the number of messages per conversation, and it is not available in every country.

What Knizhko is not. It is a shop assistant for finding books. It does not provide legal, medical or financial advice. Its replies are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate. No decision producing legal or similarly significant effects for you is made by Knizhko or by any other automated process.

Deleting Your Account and Data

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it in either of the following ways:

• from the My Account page, on the website or in the app;
• or by emailing info@knigianglia.co.uk from the address you registered with.

We will delete your account, your Knizhko conversations and your push notification subscriptions within 30 days of your request.

Your Rights and How to Contact Us

Your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — are set out in full in our Privacy Policy and apply equally to everything described on this page.
